Aim of the Tuition
The aim of the tuition was to prepare Jenny for her for the 12+ entrance exam and interview, so she would meet the entry criteria and be offered a place at her desired grammar school.
Work Scope
The written exam involved studying the texts that were specified by the school, such as Nina Bawden's novel, 'Carrie's War' and Shakespeare's play, 'Twelfth Night', which we studied in detail. I prepared the student for her interview by giving her practice questions and mock interviews.
Result
In January 2008, the student passed the interview and exam and was offered a place at her desired school.
Success Story: Faizal Progressing from 'Ungraded' to Level 4 in five months. Aim of the tuition The aim of the tuition was to improve upon Faizal's ungraded score and gain a level 4, (which is the national average), in his SAT English tests in May 2010.
Work Scope
To improve Faizal's literacy level, I gave the him broadsheet newspapers to read, as well as novels such as 'Holes' by Louis Sachar.
Result After 5 months of tuition, Faizal completed his English SATs: he achieved an impressive level 5 in reading and level 3A in writing, averaging a level 4 grade overall.
